Principal Birnbaum was born and raised as a farm boy in central Texas with his parents and three siblings. He attended a Lutheran school through eighth grade and a small public high school. David earned his Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Concordia — Texas in 1990 and his Master’s in Administration from Concordia — Nebraska in 2000.
Mr. Birnbaum began his career as a second-grade teacher in Miami and became the principal in his fourth year.
After seven years in Florida, he moved to Dallas where he met his wife, Julie, who was teaching Kindergarten. They have been blessed with three children — Jacob and his wife Natalia, Madison, and Noah.
After serving sixteen years in Texas, he accepted a principal position in Oklahoma for eleven years. He also served as District Education Executive of the LCMS during those last nine years.
Mr. Birnbaum looks forward to starting his new adventures in Kansas.
